What Sort of Church Should We Be?

"All power in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age". Matthew 28:18-20

The Future of Our Church

As a person who fell way away from attending church but returned after 16 years, it is very important for me to be mindful of those who stop coming to church because they do not understand or appreciate all our faith offers us.  This is why I have this website and it is why I do the adult faith presentations you can view in the videos on this website.

I have been doing a lot of reading in the past year about Evangelization and Apologetics.  I have been reflecting on how our parish can help people discover a deeper relationship with Jesus.  Now, the Catholic parishes in the county where I serve (Wayne County, New York) are starting a regional planning process to talk about the future of ministry in our area.  To collect my thoughts, I have written a document called, "What Sort of Church Should We Be?"  I invite you to read and reflect on this document as we seek to be the Church that Jesus calls us to be.  While the timing of this document is prompted by the local regional planning, it is written based on my general experience in all the parishes I have served in.
