Our Saints and Intercessors: Part I
"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us rid ourselves of every burden and sin that clings to us and persevere in running the race that lies before us while keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the leader and perfecter of faith."
Hebrews 12:1-2a

Our churches and parish are named after saints but do we know much about these saints? As Catholics we know Mary is important but do we really understand what our faith teaches about her? What does mean to venerate the saints? In the statue of St. Lucy, why is she holding a plate with two eyeballs on it? What was St. Thomas Aquinas really trying to teach us? What about angels? What about St. Patrick and St. Luke? Here in Part I, Fr. Jeff begins to explore these questions.
