Music in the Catholic Mass

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly,
as in all wisdom you teach and admonish one another,
singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs
with gratitude in your hearts to God

Colossians 3:16

Christian holy communion

At Mass we seek to give praise and glory to God while also fostering our relationship with God.  We need to be active participants in the way we do this.  Music is part of the way we do this.  The following articles unfold why and how we include Mass in Catholic Liturgy.

  • "Why We Sing at Mass" - Coming April 8, 2025! -This article explores why we use music at Mass including biblical passage and considerations in the content of the music.
  • Future articles will reflect on who sings at Mass, where they sing from, and the style of music that is appropriate for Mass
