Talking to God: A Conversation About Prayer
"Rising very early before dawn, he left and went off to a deserted place, where he prayed."Mark 1:35
It's important to know words to prayer. Equally important is think about the attitude we bring to prayer. Do we tell God our lists of "demands" or are we open to listening to God? For more on this check out this video. Here is a handout for the scriptural citations and references from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
Some common forms of prayer include:
- Liturgy of the Hours
- Eucharistic Adoration
- Stations of the Cross
- Contemplative Prayer & Centering Prayer
- Lectio Divina
- The Rosary
If you would like to see more videos on prayer, in 2021, Fr. Jeff offered a new three-part series on prayer, Giving Our Hearts to God: What It Means to Prayer.
